RUC's volunteer environment
The volunteer environment is a gateway to unique friendships and relationships, built on social, academic and organizational events. It opens the door to opportunities and skills that benefit students during their time at RUC, as well as after.
It is through the volunteer environment that you can influence which social events take place on campus. You can make a difference and help the community flourish. It is also through the volunteer environment that you can put topics and debates on the agenda.
If you have a unique idea for an organization that could fill a gap in the volunteer landscape, you are more than welcome to start your own organization. Contact us at the student council at contact@sr-ruc.dk, and we will be more than happy to help you with this! And if you are just interested in participating in the activities of various organizations, remember to follow them on their social media as you can see below!
The Kamarilla
The Kamarilla is responsible for planning the annual party, which has included famous danish artists such as: Sivas, Tessa, Blæst, Suspekt and MAS.

RUC Tutoring
This organisation is responsible for facilitating the study start for new students every year and recruiting tutors. RUCSport
RUCSport is a student-lead organization offering a wide range of activities all around the university campus. At the core of the organisation is the RUCGym, which is located on campus and where every student at RUC can get a membership. Every semester we also host different sports all around campus, from dancing to yoga, volleyball, football and many more.
No sport is too niche, and no idea is too farfetched. So contact us with your idea at rucsport@gmail.com, post in the RUCSport facebook group or contact any of our volunteers on facebook or in person. A lot of important information are also available on rucsport.dk.
Roskilde University Outdoor Association
RUF is an organization for students who want to take part in a community that finds great joy in nature and outdoor life.

Queer Culture Club
Queer Culture Club is a student organization at Roskilde University, aimed at building an LGBTQ+ friendly environment by facilitating social activities. They are an open and inclusive club, where all are welcome!

RUCbrewery
RUCbrewery is a student-driven volunteer homebrew club, open to everyone. We make beer, along with all sort of drinks with or without alcohol, based entirety on the input of our participants.

CEA/ERUA
CEA/ERUA is a volunteer student organization aimed at keeping in contact and coordinating with the the two international university alliances CEA and ERUA, in both of which RUC is a member.
Critical Edge Alliance (CEA): is a global association of universities, focused on student-centered learning, critical thinking, interdisciplinary teaching and research, and social engagement
European Reform University Alliance (ERUA) is an association of EU universities from all around the continent, offering diverse programs and opportunities.

European Youth Roskilde (EUR)
European Youth Roskilde is the local branch of the cross-political youth organization European Youth, which works to increase understanding and interest in the European Union among young people in Denmark.
They have their base at Roskilde University and hold EU-related events such as debates, presentations and workshops approximately once a month. They also place great emphasis on social community with pleasant events that are always open to everyone.

Frit Forum Roskilde
We are the red and green student organisation on RUC, and the labour movement’s academic front in Danish universities. We are active in both student politics, national and international politics. We have discussions, lectures and events, both academic, political and social, about everything from world peace and climate change to what the cantina offers for lunch and how RUC should handle the project formation. We are a left-leaning, social democratic, political organisation, with a wide range of opinions and views and a lot of space for discussion internally.

RUC Bassmakers is a volunteer organization at RUC that builds festival facilities with a passion for bass music.

The Student House at RUC
The student house is where you can find most of the voluntary organizations, including RUCbar. It is the place on campus where most students spent their time when they are not in class. The student house has three group rooms, a cozy library and a communal kitchen that is available for the use of the students.

RUCbar & Café
RUCbar is a bar and café run entirely by student volunteers who want to promote the social well-being on campus by creating a space where students can meet.
They regularly hold events and fun Thursday bars - and are also open during the day to serve you a soda, coffee, or Chai Latte to keep your energy up between lectures.

RUCkitchen is a cooking club where we make and host dinners on campus. You are welcome to join as a volunteer cook or as a dinner guest. Don't worry if you think you can't cook, we are happy to teach you!

The board game club
The Board game club is a club where we play board games. We meet every Friday to shout, vibe, betray, cry, cooperate, laugh, cook, game, and pretend we know the rules. Occasionally, we cheat.
It’s bonding. We promise.

Ukraine Unity Club RUC
Ukraine Unity Club RUC brings together Ukrainian, Danish and international students at Roskilde University to foster cultural exchange, mutual support and greater awareness of Ukraine’s challenges and its future in Europe. We strive to build a welcoming community where everyone can share ideas, learn from one another and turn those ideas into real events.

Rubber Duck Media
Rubber Duck Media is an organization that makes funny videos and sketches especially during the intro period at RUC, but they also work on other media projects.
